The area that Bessemer Plywood Corporation occupies was originally the location of an old iron mine known as the Yale Mine.

Bessemer plywood began business in 1986, shipping its first truckload on November 4th of that year.

Bessemer Plywood has remained competitive over the years through hard work, innovation and keeping up with technologies.  Some of these technological advances include a lathe utilizing an XY charger to ensure maximum yield of the log, and an efficient 20 unit veneer dryer.
